Sean McDonnell is the Founder and President of Elder Living Advisors, Inc., as well as a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) ®. He recognized families needed a trusted senior advisor on Massachusetts’ South Shore to help them transition their senior loved ones from their existing homes into alternative assisted living options when the time called. From this need, he built Elder Living Advisors to serve seniors and their families, and help them make the best, most-informed senior care decisions, based on their needs.
Sean McDonnell also founded Cottage Caregivers – an award-winning home care services company – in 2015. Today, he works closely with seniors and their families, finding ideal in-home care, as they navigate the complex world of quality senior care options. As President of Elder Living Advisors and Cottage Caregivers, Sean is committed to leading his senior care organizations in delivering the highest levels of compassionate, professional senior placement guidance and home care assistance on Massachusetts’ South Shore. Sean McDonnell: A History of Local Service on the South Shore
McDonnell grew up in Abington and Marshfield, MA all of his life with a small stint living in Ireland, where is parents immigrated from Castlebar, County Mayo and Killarney, County Kerry. He is a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton and graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, MA.
Sean has always been passionate about community volunteerism, which includes many years driving fundraising efforts for the Best Buddies, Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) and Dana Farber charity organizations. Sean also volunteered as a Big Brother for the Quincy Big Brothers & Big Sisters chapter for many years, and coached youth soccer for his local community. He currently resides in Marshfield, MA with his wife Amy and their three girls – Katie, Colleen and Michaela.
Amy McDonnell, Director of Senior Care, RN, BSN
Amy McDonnell has been working in the nursing field on the South Shore since 1993. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Nursing Program, she has worked in a variety of community-based nursing roles. Her past experiences include, working with patients in a rehabilitation setting at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital as well as in home care through her work with the South Shore Visiting Nurses Association (SSVNA), where she worked closely with patients as an expert in the Oncology field.
Amy has a great deal of experience in community-based Nursing with her work in her local school system. Amy’s volunteer work includes Meals on Wheels, Pan Mass/Dana Farber Fundraising efforts, and teaching CYO in her community. She is a consummate professional who brings unparalleled compassion to all that she does.
